Countries I've Visited

We are so fortunate to have the opportunity and the resources to travel. We are taking full advantage of being able to do this. We love escaping the winter cold to visit the Caribbean and when we can, our families in Norway and Northern Ontario. I’ve always wanted to travel and have done pretty well for an Ojibway girl from “Up North”!

To date I’ve visited 26 countries. I’ve compiled a list of countries below!

Antigua & Barbuda Antigua & Barbuda – We spent Christmas 2000 there last year. Best and most beautiful Christmas we both had in a long long time.
Austria Austria – Salzburg Been there twice – home of “The Sound of Music”, beautiful countryside and Mozart
Bahamas Bahamas – Nassau – Herman & I went there on our honeymoon in 1997. We stayed at the Raddison Cable Beach Resort
Belgium Belgium – Brugge, Oostende, Lieg & Brussels while I was working as au-pair in 1987. I touched an ocean for the first time in Brugge!
Canada Canada – EH! – Vancouver, Banff, Calgary, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal
Cuba Cuba – Veradero – Herman & I went here for a vacation in 1999 then to Ciego de Avila (Cayo Guillermo in April 2001) and Holguin in June 2003. We took Elina with back to Varadero in Mar 2005
Denmark Denmark – Copenhagen – was only here passing through by train on the way to Oslo. We have also flown out of Denmark several times on our way to Oslo
Dominican Republic Dominican Republic – Santo Domingo & Puerto Plata on two separate vacations. Also visited LaRomana in 2002 and Punta Cana in January 2003
Finland Finland – landed here once on the way to Oslo
France France – Oh La La – Paris, Nantes, Lyon to name a few of the cities I’ve visited there! Also visited the south of France during the summer of 02
Germany Germany -  Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt and a few other smaller cities I can’t name
Italy Italy – Rome, Venice (twice), Florence. I also spent 4 hours from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. waiting at a train station in Verona!
Liechtenstein Liechtenstein – part of Switzerland, had coffee in a nice cafe there once!
Luxumburg Luxemburg - drove through it once, had to pay attention or you would have passed it without knowing it!
Mexico Mexico – OLE! Acapulco a few times with some girlfriends!! Wild, crazy & fun city! We also visited Tulum in the Mayan Rivera in February 2007 with the Malik/Sears family.
Mexico Monaco - On our trip Europe 2002 – Norway/Switzerland & France. We spent 5 days in the south of France and did an afternoon tour to Monaco!
Netherlands Netherlands – Amsterdam
Norway Norway – Oslo & surroundings – home of my husband,  Bergen (and it wasn’t raining)
Norway Panama – Landing in Panama City then traveling 2 hours east and south to Playa del Farallon.
Sweden Sweden – Stockholm & a cute town south of Oslo for Easter 1997
St. Kitts & Nevis St. Kitts & Nevis – We stayed at a Jack Tar Village in Friggate Bay. We visited Nevis (a sister island). Both are beautiful islands.
St. Lucia St. Lucia – We stayed at the Almond Morgan Beach Club near Casteries – MOST beautiful vacation ever!!
Switzerland Switzerland - I worked in Lausanne for 15 months in 1987 to 1988 as well as several trips in the last years. It’s the land of chocolate, cheeze and clocks!
USA USA – Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Pheonix, New York & Orlando to name a few of the cities I’ve seen.
UK UK- London, Messingham, York, Lincoln, Whitby, Scarborough & Pickering!
Vatican City Vatican City – its a country you know! Ask the Pope!

I would still love to visit Greece, Spain & Portugal, someplace exotic in the Pacific Ocean, perhaps Iceland (who knows why but it appeals to me), and travel more within UK (Ireland & Scotland). Then when I grow up…(LOL), who knows where the travels will take me.
