At the request of Auntie Donna in UK, here is a photo of Elina in the tubby with her wet hair - to show how long her hair really is! This was the best I could do in getting her to pose, but as you can see, its growing. When she goes to bed her hair is slightly wet, therefore when she wakes up, its all puffy and flat! The other photo of Funny Face - tubby and soap, need I say more!

First off, Happy Birthday to Gramma Dawne!!!

Cats spent the week away from home - so that we can show the apt. and that they wouldn't be too bothered by the open house! They are glad to be home, thanks to Monica and Delphine/Luke for watching them!

But our condo is in excellent selling condition - "fluffed" and decluttered - every day I take 30 min. to leave it smelling fresh and bed crisply made and all crumbs and dusted and lights on and soft music playing. We are "evicted" so that potential buyers can see the place (sometimes at 45 minutes notice), all to get our condo sold at a decent price and mostly that we can get back to living like normal people do! We're going to invite all our friends and their kids and have a "make our condo cluttered and lived in" party after this is all over!!

Back Home and Condo Up For Sale

Elina and I had a wonderful restful trip to Thunder Bay, as usual, she travelled very well! I did however think about the preparations for selling our condo for almost every moment there - but now that everything is in place and after my dear husband made all the final preparations - we have a beautiful condo for sale. Now that we have de-cluttered it and made things all nice and beautiful - I don't really want to leave it:( If you'd like to see a virtual tour of our place - use this link for a Video Tour.

Photos.....different story - our second computer is packed and stowed away - thus the software and hardware to connect camera to the computer - so until we sell our place and bring back the computer - I'll have to think of another way to post Ellie photos - (I'll still be taking them, but not sure when I'll post them online

Background Information

We are selling our two-bedroom condo in the trendy Beaches area! Our open house process starts on May 26 with public Open House on May 28 and 29 (2PM - 4PM). In order to have people to have the full feel of our condo, we would have to provide open door access to our bedroom areas. As it sits now, our cats do not have access to those 2 rooms because ... I'm allergic to them!!!

So, we are looking for a temporary home for our 2 friendly bluepoint siamese (indoor) cats (mom/daughter team - Peps and Daisy). They are quite social ones, but also independent. The time-frame is roughly 2 weeks (initial open home period). If it doesn't sell within this time-frame we will just deal with the "door issue" after that. We would provide the cat food, cat box and litter, and any accessories that they would need for their vacation along with the necessary red or white wine to accompany an evening with them (they don't drink wine).

Missing Photos

Please don't fret at the missing photos of Elina (Month 21 and Week 94 Photo Journal pix.), they are taken but just have not found the time to upload them! We are busy preparing our condo for for sale. Its amazing how much "clutter" we actually do have and how "personal" we've made it (to sell you take away clutter and personal touches - make a blank slate so to speak for any potential buyers. (I've had to remove all the cat stuff from bathroom - change our bedding, remove alot of the prints on the wall, remove all extra utensils/pots/bowls, etc. from out kitchen, and then store all of it until we take possession of our new place in August!). So, long story short, Elina's photos will be put up tonight - I promise!

Elina and I are headed to Thunder Bay on Friday, for the long weekend - leaving Daddy with all the last minute touch-ups!

Should I also mention that Elina had this fever all last week - nothing else to to with it - she had complained once about a sore ear but when I took her into her doctor, he said that after 3 days of fever, she should have had flaming red ears and her's were clear. None-the-less, she's healthy and back at daycare, and I'm back at work, less much vacation time!!

We Bought A House!

Elina has a back yard, a playroom (oh gosh more toys!!) We finally were successful in purchasing a house, we are approx. 5 minutes from our condo building. We are walking distance to Elina's daycare. We are in the vicinity of the better schools in the city. We have a third bedroom (office). We have a finished basement. WE HAVE A HOUSE!! *Photo courtest of Bayview Sutton (Real Estate Agency we bought from) - we will take our own photos and post them soon!!

I guess after our closing date - we would like to extend an invitation to all our friends (near and far) to come visit.

Funny thing about this 2nd mothers day was the reality that we have a daughter and once a year - we as mom's get honored on one special day! Elina and I wore matching (from Old Navy) tshirts with I Mom / Mommy. I went out and treated myself to a nice silk spring blazer and pants and Herman got me two beautiful cards and a DVD player - pratical but really wanted!

We would also like to wish our mom's Lina, Elin and Dawne a very Happy Gramma's Day and most importantly, my sister, Elina's Birthmom a Happy Mothers Day!!!

This may bring you a laugh or two, something that was passed onto me a few years back - just before Elina's birth - a Job Description - Mother.

Helping With Decorating

So how do you get angry at such a cute little face!! Elina did some home improvement decorating this morning with a black ink pen on 2 doors and 3 wall surfaces (hall, entrance and wall in living room!!) Herman and I were in the bedroom discussing important matters (we're attempting to buy a house) and then heard that really specific sound of pen on wall! Herman spent some time with a industrial hand-cleaning solution and removed most of the pen but we still have a major touch up to do. We also have to wish her Auntie Donna in UK a very happy 39th birthday!!!!!!!!

Sunny Evenings!

After supper and her video, we had time for a walk around the block - she loves to see all the neighbourhood kids and dogs/cats. She's also been extremely talkative and repeats almost all the words we say! Tree, clouds, birds, truck, bus, and so on.... Does Elina watch too much TV? Imagine that she can finish the following sentences..."Can we fix it" - "Yes we can" - "Who's that?" - "Joe" (from Blue's Clues).

Drama Queen

First off, I'm experimenting with a new type of layout for the entries! You can send me feedback if you thing this isn't working for you!

Elina has turned into quite a Drama Queen - in the sense that she is quite dramatic about how she does things - For example, she helps set the table - loves the chore, and when she has picked something up that was heavy she would grunt the entire way from kitchen to dining room. So she'll now do it with every object - including plastic spoon!

She's also found out how to get our attention once in bed, usualy just before or after afternoon at home nap - she'd toss TickleBunny overboard and then cry for him and we'd go in and put him back in the crib with her! She's as always our little entertainer!! Really cute!!

Health Update and Elina Thoughts!

Mommy is sick - acute sinusitis, most days are filled with extreme pain (sinus headache) plus a mild fever and extreme fatigue! My medication will change to a much stronger antibiotic if things haven't improved on Sunday - and I've been given a pain medication to relieve the pain - I cannot take antihistimines - long story! Short is to suffer it out until antibiotics kick in!

I did make a small mistake today with Elina - I forgot to bring her diapers into daycare and dropped them off on the way to the doctors office, kids were playing outside and so I went over and said HI to my babes, and turned to everyone and say "bye bye"! and thought she was heading home. She cried for 20 minutes afterwards (they said), so note to self, do not go visit her unless I intend to pick her up! She otherwise enjoys her daycare and now loves to read books (she would never finish them or let me turn the pages in the right direction - she'd always want me to turn the pages backwards (back to front)).

Spring Has Arrived

At least for this week and today (27C), we're expecting single digits on the weekend! Elina's spending alot more time outdoors (at daycare). Unfortunately, Mom is still sick. Sinus infection which has dibilitated my entire body - I've had a mild fever for 4 days, plus fatigue and mostly sinus pain and headaches and the most irritable runny nose!!!! I'm on an antibiotic (dosaged doubled yesterday) and I hope it responds to the meds and I'm on the mends soon!! I HATE BEING SICK!!!

20 Month Thoughts

This photo is a second one of Elina and shows a really cute growing girl! You can see the little suntan lines from our trip to Cuba last month.

Elina's finally getting 2 more teeth - adding two more to the sole two bottom teeth in front (she has 2 molars - one on each side!)

Anyhow, as you can see, the photos and journal has been archived, use the side menu archive links to view the last entries. I'm also in the process of converting our site to a Mambo dynamic content management system - so you may notice some changes in the coming weeks

Toronto had 20 celcius today and for the last two days we have been visiting the park down on Kew Gardens - we hadn't been since the snow appeared last winter - she's really grown alot and runs around like all the other kids!
