Week of March 12, 2006

Elina took some photos for her Easter cards today at Loblaws! It wasn't the easiest, especially since I bought the princess dress to break the ice in hopes of getting her more interested in that process and it backfired on me and she didn't want to change her clothes (its 7:30 and she's still wearing it!!). Here she is just before tubby and just after I wrote this!

Elina, Dean and their parents had a quick trip to Riverdale Farm this past Sunday then the part that she remembered most is the soup place on Parliament afterwards!

Elina and her daddy went down to Lake Ontario (which Elina now refers to as the ocean, and then I picked them up. It was quite cold today but that didn't stop her from enjoying the waterside and tossing some rocks into the water! P.S. photo taken with my camera phone!

30 Months Old - 2 ^1/2 Years Old

Today Elina posed while having lunch and it was so cute and like her that I had to put it here rather than one taken with digital camera (this one was taken with my mobile phone). She's nearly 30 months (this week) - that's 2 1/2 years old!

Elina visited Lara today (along with Dean) and they played, had coffee, shopped for groceries and then had lunch! She has let me take away two of the back braids from the vacation and she has 6 remaining! Who knows when we'll get those off!

Elina on the morning of our trip, just boarded (preboarding) the Air Canada 5 1/2 hour flight to St. Lucia!

She travelled as usual, like an old pro. She has flown about 5 or 6 times up north to Thunder Bay, to Oslo, to Cuba and now to St. Lucia, pretty good for a 2 1/2 year old!

Elina loves a scarf I got for Christmas, suits her to a "t". She won't be needing it all next week, we'll be spending it in St. Lucia, in the Caribbean! Will definately post photos when we come back!

28 Months Old - Week of January 8, 2006

We went for a short walk prior to our coffee with Dean and Ellie this morning! It is scheduled to be 3º c or 4 º c today and 10º c next weekend (the weekend before we leave to St. Lucia.)

Elina opened most of her presents on December 25, Christmas morning, dressed in her fairy outfit, and hat from Gramma and lipstick from Auntie Donna!!

Elina, make a funny face!! I haven't quite been able to get in to see if her back 4 molars are coming in but she certainly has 12 of them up front to give her a nice cheesy smile!

28 Months Old

Pardon the tardiness, just been really busy! Elina is growing to be such a beauty! We count our lucky stars every night, she goes to bed loved and happy!

She's growing so much hair that at night, we have taken to drying her hair with a cold hair dryer (with a cold button). I still haven't cut it since she was born (except for a smile bunch at one month old). She's ok with ponies - on the top like broccoli, two on the side, and on occasion, one pony right out back, but mostly we go for the wild hairdoo look, just like her mommy!!

The dress is a hand-me-down from Elina's cousins in Norway, as close as she will get to a traditional Norwegian bunad (for now). The event took place between 2 and 4:30, right smack dab in the middle of her nap time, she had a fun time dancing around the Christmas tree, making decorations and playing with other children!

Elina headed straight to a piano at the Christmas celebration today! I wonder what holds in her future for being so animated and funny and loving music!!

We went with Lara's parents to a Swedish Christmas Festival down at Harbourfront and Elina was enthralled by the singing, dancing and children's traditional Lucia Parade of children with candles!

By the way, her hair is lightening up alot!!

What can I say about her fashion sense! As I mentioned before, she loves to do things the way she wants too..thus the hat on backwards! I got her at Sears a pair of dress-up shoes for $5, she hasn't taken then off! Earlier in the evening (see the main page), she had on her hula dress to entertain and greet our supper guests Dean and Madison (and accompaning parent!). So, since she likes to walk on her tippy toes, she'll soon move into stiletto's before grade school!

27 Months Old

One of a kind girl with a mind of her own, a personality to match. Elina's still doing things her own way, in this example, wearing sunglasses!!! at 7:20 AM!! while eating breakfast!!! watching Treehouse and getting ready to walk to daycare!!

Week of November 6, 2005

I sleep with two pillows, always have, on under my head the other I use to lie on top of (belly), because I sleep sometimes on my belly - which isn't good .... ask a Chiropractor. So how does it go that Elina sleeps now with 5 pillows - two king ones, and now 3 square pillows. I purchased them all for when she moves into her big twin bed, but she insists on sleeping with them. Count Teddy Stor (Big), she's got nothing but pillows to sleep on/under/over/by/etc.

Ok..So Elina's got to wear something to daycare, but all she has is an outside outfit (a monkey from last year..today at Old Navy, all outfits were 50% off so I got her this one, showed it to her and she'll probably sleep with it on today.

We made a trip to visit IKEA today to get another baby gate for the bottom of the steps from living to the to second floor (installed on top and top of main to basement stairs), only to find out they are not in stock. We did however spend alot of time at the train track station, so I bought one home for Elina!

Groovey Baby Yeah!!! And..She also loves lipstick, she won't be a tomboy afterall! At a local kids store, she picked up and was applying some sparkly lip gloss and has been doing so since Sat afternoon!

Elina's igloo (from Ikea) is now setup in her bedroom...along with a few of her toys, she enjoys the time she spends there now!

Elina went to Lena's Birthday, a little Norwegian girl whom we met earlier this summer. Here is Elina and here daddy opening up a present she got for the party! She met some new friends, spoke some Norwegian, had some candies and played and danced and is now sleeping soundly!!

Here's Elina on a rainy cloudy Sunday looking over her daddy's car! I have decided to forego weekly photos for photos taken weekly! Gone are the weekly numbered photos! (sort of), I will continue to take photos of her as long as she'll let me.

Daddy had to work today so Elina and I were solo to run a few errands and ended up filling our day quite well. We ended the evening at Dean's place for Sunday roastbeef dinner!
